內容簡介Various improvements, mainly quality in development, have been made on plate bricks for the slide valve to lengthen the service life, we studied about the plate brick shape and we obtained an optimum one which is stable in use and has a long service life. Firstly, we tested and analyzed four face fixing mechanisms that not only controls crack formation and enlarges the working area but also disperses stress. Secondly, we investigated the relationship between edge damage and plate width, and we confirmed a correlation. We derived a new shape on the basis of this correlation and applied it to a hot furnace. In the ladle, the plate life is lengthened by approx. 2 changes. In the tundish, the service life in casting is lengthened by about 30 approx 40 percent.
