內容簡介Aluminium is used in applications where weight saving and energy efficient solutions are essential (transportation, building, packaging). The material can be recycled with no intrinsic loss of properties and has high end-of-life recycling rates. Recycling can save up to 95% of the energy required for the primary production. From this perspective aluminium is an energy containing resource (energy bank). Since 1990 CO2 emissions from the primary production have been reduced by 50% and accordingly perfluorocarbon emissions by 94%. A life-cycle assessment shows that the use and recycling of aluminium contributes to the reduction of green house gas emissions.
